We’re thrilled to announce that Grand River Makerspace has officially secured a space of our own — just over 3,000 square feet at 25 N. Park St NW, Walker, MI!
Shown: Lysie Taylor and Chris Kaminsky @ Lease Signing
If you’ve driven along West River Drive, we’re right near the old Delta Plex — just before you get to Vitale’s — in a spot that’s both easy to find and easy to access. When you get to the building, it will be easy to find due to the large aquatic Mural on the wall!
The building is a maker’s dream. We’ve got:
-
Two interior rooms perfect for “clean” activities like electronics, sewing, or digital design.
-
A wide-open warehouse area with three huge garage doors — perfect for woodworking, metalwork, large projects, and loading in big ideas (literally).
-
Potential for expansion into a large storage area currently used by the building owners.
Speaking of owners — we couldn’t ask for a better neighbor. The landlord runs his own IT business from the same building and is a fellow nerd at heart. That means he gets what we’re about and is excited to see the space come alive with makers, crafters, tinkerers, and innovators.
This space checks so many boxes from our business plan — enough room for our laser cutters, 3D printers, woodworking tools, and community classes, plus the flexibility to grow as our membership grows.
We can’t wait to start transforming 25 N. Park into a hub where ideas turn into reality. In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing updates on move-in progress, volunteer work days, and ways you can help shape our new home.
This is just the beginning. Let’s build something amazing together.
