Grand River Makerspace Partners with Eridian Engineer Rocky to Launch Xenonite 3D Printing
// First confirmed human–Eridian fabrication partnership in recorded history //
We are thrilled — and frankly a little starstruck — to announce that Grand River Makerspace has entered into an official intergalactic partnership with Rocky, lead fabrication engineer aboard the Hail Mary spacecraft, to bring Xenonite 3D printing to Walker, Michigan.
Xenonite, forged from processed xenon gas by Eridian engineers, is one of the strongest and most versatile materials in the known universe — available in a stunning metallic finish. Rocky personally reviewed our print farm, inspected our filament stock, and assessed our bed leveling technique before approving the partnership.
Rocky will serve as GRM's new mascot and unofficial quality control officer. He has already expressed strong opinions about our first layer adhesion. We are taking notes.
Xenonite Filament — Technical Specifications
* Human adapter kit sold separately. Rocky has noted that our five-fingered hands are "weird weird" but manageable with proper training.
🌟 Okay, okay — Happy April Fools Day!
We may have gotten a little carried away. Xenonite is not real (yet), Rocky is not on staff (yet), and our filament is still very much regular old PLA. But honestly? We regret nothing.
What IS real: our makerspace, our community, and our deep love for stories about curiosity, problem-solving, and building things against all odds. Which brings us to something we genuinely want you to do...
🚀 Seriously though — go see Project Hail Mary
Project Hail Mary is in theaters now and it is — without exaggeration — one of the best sci-fi stories about the maker spirit we've ever come across. Based on Andy Weir's beloved novel, it follows an astronaut who must science his way out of an impossible situation, one improvised solution at a time.
Rocky is one of the most lovable characters in recent memory. The engineering is genuinely fascinating. And the whole film is basically a love letter to curiosity, creativity, and figuring things out — which is exactly what GRM is about every single day.
Go see it. You'll leave wanting to build something. We guarantee it.
