28 Mar 22 Update

The paperwork for the Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN), Articles of Incorporation, and Application for 501c3 has been filed. The EIN has already been received. Once the organization is registered, the plan is to apply for Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) matching grant for 50,000 dollars. The initial contacts have been made with the MEDC.

Location, location, location. The search for a place to call home continues. The location at 1500 Buchanan is no longer available, although the developer we were in contact with is looking at other properties in the area and will let us know if there is anything suitable. We also have a commercial realtor working with us, and he has a contact that has helped other non-profits find space, including the Special Olympics of Michigan.

GRCC is back in the conversation, there is a new point of contact, and a meeting is being scheduled as soon as the GRCC individuals are available. Also, Lions and Rabbits have reached out and we will be meeting with them on Friday the 1st of April.
